Behavior of behavior

If we don't control our behavior, our behavior will control us. When self restraint is not at all a factor, it's easy to let our actions get away from us. We don't think about repercussions or consequences; we usually just think in terms of satisfaction. It's a bad habit to get into, and can become quite a problem as history continues to build. Ones behavior forms itself into patterns if left uncontrolled. Sometimes these patterns are more positive and sometimes they are more negative.

Such is the case for a individuals behavior, however it reflects from a more internetted grand scale across societies. Each society is held together by the participating individuals, and therefore is a collective entity of their behavior. While viewing the overall status of a society, the particular contributing behavioral elements of the individual is often overlooked. I believe it is through introspection, and self reflection that we can begin to change what is greater than the individual.

Through understanding ourselves more intimately, we develop a higher sense for our objective place in nature (the world, or universe if you prefer). This in turn gives us a greater capacity for an even higher understanding. We learn about ourselves, to learn more about the world, which gives us more to learn about ourselves *with*. This is a positive feedback loop, and the result of having self control! We are responsible for our own behavior whether we like to admit it or not. By accepting responsibility, we can develop more naturally and gracefully.
